Show: True Blood
Season: 4
Episode: 1
Original Airing: June 26, 2011
Last night I watched the season 4 premiere of HBO's hottest show since the Sopranos. The season is supposed to loosely follow the fourth book of the Sookie Stackhouse series. So far I don't see any resemblances to the book besides the coven of witches. But I digress, this season is sure to be full of surprises, twists, plenty of blood, and the sexy vamp Eric Northman. I'll try and keep the episode summary short and to the point.
The fairy world is everything you would think it sure be, right- magical people, beautiful woman, golden fruit, and goblins.... wait? Did I say goblins? The fairy world is not what it is supposed to be as Sookie soon finds out. The queen fairy is set on sealing off the fairy world from the human and she will not let Sookie escape. Good thing Sookie didn't eat the golden fruit! Sookie finds her long lost grandpa who is supposedly dead. At first he does not recognize her, because according to him Sookie is still a seven year old girl. The Grandpa realizes that what seemed like hours was 20 years.
Sookie knows fairy world is a trap. The fairy queen corners Sookie and tries to force feed her the fruit, but she resists using her magic light. The beautiful fairies are turned into goblin looking things and fairyville turns into what looks like war-torn Afghanistan.
With the help of fairies that disagree with the queen's creed to seal off the human world, Sookie and her grandpa escape back to the human world. Because her grandpa had eaten the fruit he can no longer live in the human world and so he dies, but not before handing Sookie the gold watch he wanted to give to Jason.
Sookie comes across her house.. but it's not her house. When then new police officer Jason shows up at the house to remove what the construction works report as a intruder Jason reveals that Sookie has been gone for a year and he sold the house.
Bill is now the new king of Louisiana. As soon as he feels Sookie's presents in the real world he shows up at her house. He tells her that everyone assumed that he had killed her. Police officer Andy, who is now hooked on V, is told by Bill that he sent her on a secret vampire mission and that he could not tell anyone. Andy, of course, is extremely anger. He shouts out all the things he did to try and find Sookie. Bill agrees to repay the cost of the search.
Tara lives as a cage fighter in New Orleans. She has a new name, Tony, and is now a lesbian judging from the sex scene with her female opponent.
Lafayette is still with his mom's male nurse, Jesus, who has taken him to a witch coven. Things get freaky when the coven is able to bring a dead bird back to life with the help of Lafayette.
Sam is seeking help for his anger management, after shooting his brother in the leg. I wouldn't exactly call this anger management in normal terms. The group consist of two females, two males, alcohol, and shape shifting into horses for late night runs.
Jason has been taking care of the Hot Shot people since Crystal disappeared. While giving out food, Jason is called over to fix the freezer. When he leans down to have a closer look he is pushed in and the door is shut and locked.
Eric appears at Sookie's house and pulls out the key to Sookie's house. The episode ends with "Sookie, you are mine", Eric's fangs drawn while lunging toward Sookie.
Personally if I was Sookie I would just rent a apartment or build a small trailer next to the house to be in during the nights. But hey, thats just me.
