Basically this is a cute story of a mismatched pair of friends with undertones of things that relate to real life. All in all, I like the movie but I was occasionally bored.

IMDB: Momoko is an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life. Ordinary, that is, if you define ordinary as wearing elaborate Lolita dresses from the Rococo period in 18th Century France. A complete fish out of water in her rural and sleepy Japanese town, where everyone buys their clothes (and everything else) at the same store and no one understands her, Momoko's life is one of sugared sweets and frilly treats. Desperate to make some money to pay for her expensive indulgence, Momoko tries selling bootleg Ver*ace and Uni*ersal Studios clothes left over from her Dad's yakuza (gangster) days. However, when punk girl and self-styled 'Yanki' Ichiko comes calling, her days as 'ordinary' are most certainly numbered... Friendship brings these two unlikely girls together.

Year : 2010
Runtime : 107 Min.
Genre : Comedy, Action
Director : Adam McKay
Movie Stars : Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Derek Jeter,Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Steve Coogan, Michael Keaton
Country: USA
Language : English

IMDB: Terry Hoitz's past mistakes in the line of duty and Allen Gamble's reluctance to take risks have landed them the roles of the "Other Guys", disgraced New York City police detectives relegated to filling out paperwork for cocky hero cops Danson and Highsmith. The mismatched duo must look past their differences when they take on a high-profile investigation of shady capitalist David Ershon and attempt to fill the shoes of the notoriously reckless officers they idolize.

Ummm, I just wasn't feeling this movie like I thought I would. It had it's funny moments and action packed ones (Spoiler! The Rock falling off a building... ha)  but I just couldn't get into this like I had hoped after seeing the IMBD rating. It was funny in the Step Brothers sense: funny most of the time but fades in and out. For me this was a one to two times watch tops. With that being said, I loved Will Ferrel's dry character throughout the whole film. He's such a square that you almost think he's hot. LOL. You begin to see why all the hot girls fall for him.

Raincoat

Raincoat  is a hit film that has received many awards for best foreign film and various categories. It stars the queen bee of Bollywood as well as Ajay Devgan Bollywood legend in the lead roles. Even with those big names this film could not be saved from two hours of boring conversation and little action. The acting, in it's self was superb. I have not seen the Plain Jane side of Aishwarya in so long I've forgotten what she looked like when she was not all glamored up.

It's not that I did not like the story it's the way it is told instead of shown. The film occurs utterly in Neeru's house. I realize the scenery was to add to the story telling but it just panned out to be a boring two hours. Acting and great characters can't carry a film alone. I guess I'm trying to say that I wanted more action. For all you that can't appreciate character dept with limited action alone this film is not for you. One of my favorite parts of the movie was the irony.

Raincoat tells the story of Manu an unemployed man visiting Calcutta in an attempt to gather enough borrowed money from friends to start his own business. He travels to see his long loved friend Neeru expecting to receive money from her wealthy husband. When Manu arrives at Neeru's home he sees a shadow of the woman he once loved. Her face is sullen and covered by hair. Manu questions her about her relationship. She assures him that everything is grand and shes happy, though her husband is never home but on tour going from country to country.  Her home is full of furniture and dim poorly lit cramped living space. Neeru makes excuses for every question asked by Manu as to why the room is the way it is.  Manu sits down on the coach and the two begin a long conversation. Series of flashbacks occur to show Neeru before she was married. The flashbacks show a life opposite how it is now. The lights are bright and colorful. Neeru's face is full and happy.

As the evening and rain progress, Neeru leaves to buy food for Manu. At first chance he opens the closed windows to let in the little bit of existing daylight. A man yells into the window asking if he may use the bathroom. Manu reluctantly agrees. After using the restroom the man refuses to leave. He states that he must speak with Neeru. When Manu questions why the man explains that he is the landlord of Neeru's building. She has not payed rent in seven months and allows film crews to use the space to store  furniture, hence the crowded living space. She will be evicted within the next few days if she does not pay. The landlord continues to tell Manu that Neeru's husband is an unemployed drunk that disappears during the day. Manu hands over the money he borrowed to start his business to the landlord. It is not enough to pay all seven months of back rent but the landlord promises to compromise. Satisfied with the money the man leaves. Manu writes Neeru a letter with the rent receipt and reveals what he knows about her. He hides the letter under her blanket.

Neeru returns and the two finish their conversations. She tells Manu that her husband and herself will be moving soon. Manu inquires about her new address and phone number, but Neeru says she is not sure of any of those answers. Manu and Neeru bid goodbye.  Upon arriving at his friend's house he returns the raincoat that he borrowed. Inside the pocket of the raincoat is a note Neeru wrote Manu. It states that Neeru knows about his terrible financial problems and wished he would have just asked for the money. Enclosed in the envelope is Neeru's jewelery. She says that they do not keep cash inside the house so the jewelery will have to do instead.

Year : 2006
Runtime : 93 Min.
Genre : Action, Comedy, Crime, Western
Director : Joachim Rønning
Movie Stars : Penélope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Steve Zahn, Sam Shepard, Dwight Yoakam, Ismael 'East' Carlo
Country: France, Mexico, USA
Language : English, Spanish

It was a fun movie, nothing heavy or anything. Penelope and Salma equals hot and I think the makers of this movie counted on that a bit too much. I had just watched Don't Tempt Me and I enjoyed Penelope as a bad chick so I figured I'll give this film a try. The story was a bit over done: hot chicks fight crime and steal from the rich and give to the poor.  I'll definitely be adding this to my collection of films that should suck but you love them anyway.

Plot
In 1848, A small town in Mexico is taken over by big bankers from New York. These bankers want to build a railroad across Mexico, so the ruthless Tyrant Jackson kills the land owners near prime railroad territory. A small town farm girl (Penelope) and a rich pampered lady (Salma) join forces and rob banks to give the money back to their own people. With Jackson's forces looking for them the pressure is on, but the girls with the help of a forensic investigator from New York focus on robbing all New York banks.

Bride's Waterfall (Air Terjun Pengantin)

First I would like to say that this was my first Indonesian film. Cheers! I watched it with no clue or idea of what the Indonesian people find "scary", so forgive me if you are Indonesian and you were scared to death by this film, I was not. I don't want to bash the movie or judge it like I've seen 1000 horror films. The cast, especially Lilo (that's one hottie), acted like they've had some kind of training. Don't you hate it when you feel like you are watching someones home movie because the acting is shit? The story was satisfactory and the scenery was brilliant, but I have a few bones to pick with the directors. When the cast were in the hut of the killer why didn't anyone think to take a few/many of the weapons? I mean, if someone was trying to kill me I would want something to protect myself with besides my bare hands. I would be grabbing knives, rods, and anything else that could cause bodily harm to anybody. Icang had a working phone on him the whole time, obviously he had a decent signal from the island because on multiple occasions his cell rang will calls from other parts of Indonesia. I know this because no one in the group were seen calling Icang after the first few were killed. Why didn't he think to even try to call someone for help? I don't think anyone would have gotten there in time to save all of them but still... at least you tried.  I'm guessing that Mandy and Amy were thinking that Icang was playing a game when he ran to the group in near tears and yelling that their friends were dead, because they didn't seem too worried. Lilo, on the other hand, bought weapons along the way to the hut. Tiara angered me because she had a look of annoyance on her face while Icang was freaking out, like she was thinking "Ugh.. can you shut up now?" Granted that I would be annoyed if someone was screaming and I though they were joking, but unless Icang was taking acting classes his fear should have seemed real to the cast. Those were just a few plot holes that I would like to point out, but this may be how Indonesian horror is in general. So I won't judge too harshly on the rating because all countries are different in terms of films, especially horror. This film reminded me of something that I would see on the Syfy channel in America. You aren't scared to shit, but it's just enough to keep you watching. I would recommend this film to people who have 80 minutes to kill or for people who are scared easily and can't handle the serious horror films. There is quite a bit of blood, but it's definitely not Saw (film) bloody.

Plot A group of friends go on holiday to Pengantin islands where they are hunted by a traditional black magic shaman covered with a mask.
